About
About IronFret
IronFret is a guitar and home-studio gear guide run by a working musician, not a marketing team.
Who’s behind it
A guitarist with a home studio.
I’m Justin, a guitarist and home-studio producer in Arizona. I run an independent record label, Stephanage Records, and I build websites through Justinsane Designs. I make and record music at home, so I care about which gear is actually worth paying for.
Why IronFret exists
Plain answers, labeled.
Most gear advice online blurs two things: what the writer has used, and what they’ve only read about. IronFret keeps them apart. Every pick carries one of two labels.
We’ve used it ourselves.
We’re going on specs and other players’ reports until we can plug it in.
Most players aren’t spending $5,000 on a guitar, so the focus is on honest answers at real budgets. If a page doesn’t say we’ve tested something, we haven’t.
How IronFret earns money
No hidden angles.
Some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. A commission never decides what gets listed, and IronFret doesn’t take payment for placement.
The AI advisor
Meet Zap.
Zap is an AI audio advisor. He’s good at signal chains and at what a budget should buy, and he checks current prices. He can be wrong, so verify before you buy.
